Description | CD138 antigen is widely accepted to be expressed on normal and malignant plasma cells (but not mature B cells). The Human CD138 Positive Selection Kit II is designed for the isolation of CD138+ (syndecan-1) cells from fresh or previously frozen bone marrow or peripheral blood mononuclear cells by positive selection. A quaternary antibody complex recognizing CD138 and magnetic particles coated with dextran are used to target the desired cells. This complex also contains an antibody to the human Fc receptor to reduce non-specific binding. Labeled cells are separated with a magnet and no column is used. Cells of interest are left in the tubes, while unwanted cells are poured off. |
