| Description |
The kit is a DNA binding ELISA that provides everything needed to study NF-E2 related factor 2 (Nrf2), including a positive control extract. The kit can be used with extracts from human, mouse and rat. NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), also known as nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 (NFE2L2), is a key transcription factor in oxidative stress signaling. nrf2 is a basic leucine zipper transcription factor that binds to the antioxidant response element (ARE) and may act as a cellular master regulator of defense pathways that protect various tissues from various toxic exposures. Under normal conditions, Nrf2 is retained in the cytoplasm through interaction with the inhibitor KEAP1, but following oxidative stress, Nrf is released from the inhibitor and translocated to the nucleus to activate ARE-mediated gene expression. |
