Description | CD138+ cells are differentiated B cells that can be used in antibody discovery studies due to their ability to produce affinity-matured antibodies. While hybridoma fusion with mouse bone marrow and splenocytes typically requires the screening of thousands of colonies, enrichment of CD138+ plasma cells prior to hybridoma fusion can greatly reduce the screening burden for generating hybridomas. CD138+ cells isolated from immunized mice are up to 95% pure and can be used in hybridoma generation protocols, such as electrofusion. |
